If you’re ordering custom embroidery for your school, club, or team, the last thing you want is surprises. At Four Seasons Screen Printing in Marathon City, WI, we’ve worked with groups across Marathon County and Wausau for over 20 years. In that time, we’ve noticed a pattern—most teams ask the same core questions before placing an embroidery order.

If you're looking for embroidery in Marathon County WI, here’s what to know before you get started. These are the questions our local customers ask first—and the answers that help you avoid delays, mistakes, and added costs.

1. What’s the turnaround time for embroidered items?

This is almost always the first question.

The short answer: most embroidery orders take 10 to 14 business days once we’ve approved your design and received your garments.

If your team has a deadline—like a tournament, school spirit week, or fundraiser—let us know up front. We do our best to accommodate rush jobs, especially for local groups in Marathon County and Wausau, but embroidery takes time. Every logo or name is stitched line by line.

Plan ahead when you can.

2. Can I bring in my own items to be embroidered?

Yes, but there are some limits.

You can bring in items like jackets, hats, and bags for custom embroidery. Just make sure the fabric can be stitched safely. Some super-thin materials don’t hold up well to embroidery needles.

We’ll take a look and let you know if it's workable. Keep in mind—if you supply your own garments and one gets damaged in the embroidery process (which is rare, but possible), we can’t always replace it. When you order through us, we handle that risk.

3. How much does embroidery cost?

Embroidery pricing depends on three things:

  • Stitch count (how complex the design is)

  • Number of items

  • Number of locations (front, sleeve, back, etc.)

Most small logos or name placements fall within a standard price range. Larger, full-back designs cost more because they require more time and thread.

We’ll give you a detailed quote before we start. If you’re ordering for a whole team or club, we can often offer volume discounts.

4. Can I see a sample before everything is stitched?

Yes. For embroidery orders, we always do a sew-out sample. That’s a stitched version of your logo or design on scrap fabric. We send you a photo for approval before moving to production.

We want you to be happy with how the thread color, font, and size look in real life—not just on a screen.

5. What file format do you need for my logo?

For embroidery, we need your logo as a high-quality image file—preferably a vector file (.AI, .EPS, or .PDF). If you don’t have that, send us what you do have and we’ll help get it ready.

Embroidery files also need to be "digitized." That means converting your design into a format our embroidery machines can read. We handle that part. There’s a one-time fee for digitizing, but once we have it, you can reorder with no setup charge in the future.

6. What kind of items can be embroidered?

Lots. These are the most popular for local teams and clubs:

  • Polo shirts for coaches and staff

  • Warm-up jackets

  • Hats and beanies

  • Duffle bags and backpacks

  • Team sweatshirts

  • Uniforms with name personalization

Embroidery works best on heavier fabrics like cotton, poly blends, fleece, and canvas. For thinner materials or large graphics, screen printing is usually the better fit.

7. Do you only work with schools and sports teams?

Not at all. We work with:

  • Small businesses in Marathon County and Wausau

  • Nonprofits and church groups

  • Local government departments

  • Clubs, leagues, and social organizations

We also build online stores so your group can take orders directly from families or staff without collecting forms or money. It’s one of our most requested services.

8. Can I combine embroidery and screen printing in the same order?

Yes. A lot of local teams do this. For example, they’ll order screen printed t-shirts for players and embroidered polos for coaches. Or they'll screen print the back of a hoodie and embroider the front.

We can help you figure out what looks best, and what works for your budget.
